Week Two Progress

Our update for this week is that we haven't done anything yet. The big news was that when we saw the title to the Airstream we realized it's actually a 1975 Overlander. So, while one year doesn't make much of a difference, there goes our idea of a bicentennial theme.

Our neighbors, who generously gifted the 1975 Airstream Overlander to us, met us at the DMV this morning for a title transfer, but it turned out that we had an extra step to accomplish first, so it'll be a few weeks before we can title in our name. In the meantime, we are going to continue to make plans.

So, when we got home from the DMV, we decided we needed to use this time to really document the vintage state of the trailer, and take lots of measurements and pictures. I talked Dennis into shooting a brief video so you could see the inside and hear his plans:

Hope you enjoy the video! We are going to do a lot of that as we progress. I'm sure at some point you'll even have to see me.

As we talked about our vision, and themes, and decor ideas, we tossed around an aviation theme (which seems a no-brainer, since most of the time Dennis is busy building airplanes) as well as just a nice patriotic decor. It turns out that we are bigger geeks than that, so we are naming her Serenity. She's a gorram mess, but she's home. I'm imagining we'll have a lot of nice geeky odds and ends to fit her out perfectly.

Just another browncoat,

Lori
